Colombian alumni meet to join the 2023 FMA Decentralized World Gathering
On the evening of August 10, 2023, the Colombian chapter of the FIFA Master alumni gathered at District, a famous sports bar in Bogotá’s Parque de la 93, to mark the 20th anniversary of the FIFA Master Alumni Committee.
Javier Ropero (FMA’02), Marcos Fina (FMA’03) and Alvaro Llorente (FMA’04) sat down over drinks and appetizers, to catch up on their lives, while enjoying an electrifying FIFA Women’s World Cup match between Spain and the Netherlands.
Javier reminisced about his trip to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar where he reunited with some of his fellow classmates and networked with other FIFA Master alumni during the FMA World Gathering. Furthermore, Javier highlighted he was blown away by the atmosphere during the matches, the stadiums, the country’s infrastructure, and the hospitality of the locals.
Along the same lines, the three Colombian alumni weighed in on the importance of staging regional FMA meetings, especially on the sidelines of major sporting events, in order to attract more alumni. The Colombian unit welcomes the prospect of hosting an FMA event next year, with the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup being held on the Cafeteras soil.
